Karen Self graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2003, and achieved a Master of Public Administration degree from Old Dominion University in 2011. In 2014, she attended LEAD (Leading, Educating and Developing) at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia.

Karen has over 21 years of public service experience specializing in community relations, marketing, and training. She thrives on multi-tasking and procedure implementation to move the agency forward. Karen is passionate about innovative design and client solution. She brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to help this family business serve the best interests of your family and your business.

Karen was raised in a military family and has lived in Virginia since her parents put down roots in Yorktown when she was in the 3rd grade. After graduating college, she lived in Newport News for 14 years. In 2017, she and her family moved to Yorktown. She has been married to Rob for 10 years and has three children: McKinley, Phoebe and Allan.
